Named after James Kirkness (an immigrant from Scotland in 1886 who worked for the Hudson's Bay Company), Kirkness residential neighbourhood is found in the Clareview area of North-East Edmonton.
The building booms in this area happened in spurts every decade, and continues to this day. Just over half of the residences are single-family dwellings, followed by rented low-rise apartment buildings, duplexes and then row houses.Boundaries:

Things to Do:
- For family fun or physical recreation, check out James A. Christianson park (named for a prominent Edmonton businessman who sponsored the Oil Kings hockey club and the Meteors basketball club) found at 146 Avenue and Kirkness Road.
- The Clareview area is full of great shopping, restaurants, services and a movie theatre. There is no shortage of entertainment available.
