Community Description:

Named for Major General William Griesbach, a veteran of the Boer War and World War I, he was also Edmonton's youngest mayor (1907) and a practicing lawyer. Griesbach was developed originally as a military base for the CFB Edmonton, it was later transferred to Canada Lands Company to be redeveloped into residential properties.

Evenly split are the types of residences in this neighbourhood, including single-family dwellings, row houses and duplexes. It continues to be developed and expand as million-dollar homes start to arise in this area. With these pricier homes comes a very eclectic approach to living. There are small and large buildings, military-styled bridges over man-made ponds, names based on military, peacemakers, battles and more, and also an importance of making the area environmentally appealing (including, "green streets", which help to relocate and integrate evergreens into the building plans).
